During the 2019/20 football season, football will be broadcast in 4K Ultra HD on Sky Sports and BT Sport Ultimate. Both broadcasters will broadcast their Premier League games in 4K UHD as well as a selection of matches from various other competitions.

How can I watch football in 4K?

In order to watch football in 4K you will need a television capable of displaying 4K content and access to a service that broadcasts football in 4K. The most common providers of live football in 4K in the UK are:

Sky Sports Ultra HD

Sky Sports broadcast the majority of their Premier League and EFL games in 4K. To watch football on Sky Sports in Ultra HD you will need a valid Sky Sports subscription, a Sky Q box and the Sky Q experience package.

Sky Sports Ultra HD is currently exclusive to the Sky platform; however, Virgin Media have signed a deal to bring the offering to their platform at some point during 2020.

BT Sport Ultimate

BT Sport broadcast the majority of their Premier League matches and a decent number of their UEFA Champions League matches in Ultra HD.

To watch football on BT Sport in 4K via BT you will need a valid BT Sport subscription, a Max 4K TV package and a 4K recordable TV box.

Alternatively, you can watch BT Sport in 4K via the BT Sport app on selected platforms including: iOS, Android, Samsung smart TV, XBOX One and Chromecast Ultra.

To watch football on BT Sport in Ultra HD via Virgin Media you will need the Maxit TV Package and the Virgin TV V6 box.

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime’s Premier League coverage includes a number of games streamed in 4K.
